“Justice, justice, shall you pursue” (Deut. 16:20)

The Social Justice Committee celebrated Human Rights Shabbat on  Dec. 12, 2008. This  marked the 60th anniversary
of the United Nations’ passage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The UDHR, proclaimed on December 10th, 1948, began with the groundbreaking assertion that the "recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family are the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world."
