Scrip is a gift card with a fixed dollar value on it. You pay that value, and you have that dollar amount to spend at any ShopRite, Pathmark, ACME, Stop and Shop. It costs you nothing additional for you to feed your family.giftcardpicture small

Here’s how: the Temple purchases gift cards at a discount. You buy the cards at their face value, just as you always do. When you buy the cards through the Temple, B’Nai Shalom keeps the discounted difference. The discount the Temple receives is anywhere from 2.5-5%. Without spending any more money than you would normally spend at your favorite stores, you can help support the many programs which we run.

To encourage participation beyond the $1000 membership obligation, we offer an incentive. We will give your family a dues rebate after you have met your $1000 per year minimum. The Temple will offer to split the income we receive. As an example if you spend $5000 annually on Scrip, you will split the 5% made on $4000. The Temple receives $100 and you get a $100 dues credit (or you can generously opt out and let the Temple have the extra $100).

Scrip can be purchased in several ways:

  • Sunday pick up at the Temple, even during the summer — two times each month
  • At most Temple non-religious events
  • Delivery to your home by a Scrip team member if you spend at least $500 per purchase

Think of all the purchases you make and how you can help the Temple without any additional cost to you.
